It’s a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid, hit on the right side of its nose. Fender, bumper, hood, headlights, and a couple of deployed airbags. Interestingly, there’s not a lot of information on who this guy is. All I know is that dude shared one of his first rebuild videos on r/crv yesterday, and I caught it this morning. His channel, Marian builds (@Marianshop), doesn’t have much yet, and has fewer than 300 subscribers today. I expect that number to grow quickly if the right crowd, like MotorBiscuit readers, finds it.

The guy says they got the wrecked CR-V out of New Jersey. Seems like it’s a flip project. He’s obviously not on the East Coast, since he remarks about the road salt he finds around the unibody.

The builder gives us the most polite walkthrough. He’s so dang courteous to viewers. He already swapped out the ruined dash, which busted during the collision. Calm, collected, and knowledgeable, he explains that when he replaced the radiator support, he had to unplug the transmission cooler. The details! He recounts that only about a quarter cup of fluid came out. We even get to see the inlet and outlet hoses, and the box full of new replacement fluids (engine and tranny).

Since he doesn’t know when the CR-V’s last lube and filter happened, he also gives us a peek at the new oil filter there in the cardboard box.

Then he shows us the front end, walking through what got damaged and where he is with each component.

Dude unwraps (on camera!) the new left front lower airbag assembly. Hoping it’s just a simple “plug and play” component, he gets started and brings us along. It’s a great view of the lower cabin space, too.

After a couple of front-end pieces, including snapping in pigtails and clips, we’re done for today. Onto Part 2.

After the front end and airbags are totally in, the right front door goes back on. Then, the CR-V heads to the dealer for the airbag reset procedure. A final cleanup should wrap up the job. 

I’m still not sure what state the builder’s in, but if the CR-V got totaled in the crash, state inspections might be in order. This allows the new owner to obtain a “rebuilt salvage” title status rather than a “rebuilt” title, which can block owners from obtaining financing or even insurance.
