40-year-old Detroit autoworker T.J. Sabula became famous on Wednesday after he got into a verbal altercation with President Donald Trump. Sabula was suspended from his job after the incident. Now, however, a GoFundMe set up for him is about to make Sabula a very rich man.

The Ford Motor Company employee called Trump a “pedophile protector” during the President’s tour of the F-150 plant in Dearborn, Michigan. Trump, as seen on video shot by someone on their phone at the plant, twice mouths the words “f— you” at Sabula while raising his middle finger.

Sabula was referencing President Donald Trump’s handling of the investigation into the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The White House has already gone on record, saying Trump’s reaction to Sabula was “appropriate.”

“A lunatic was wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage, and the President gave an appropriate and unambiguous response,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement to the Washington Post.

Following the incident involving T.J. Sabula and President Trump, the United Auto Workers union issued a statement of support for the suspended autoworker.

“The UAW will ensure that our member receives the full protection of all negotiated contract language safeguarding his job and his rights as a union member,” the union wrote on Bluesky. “Workers should never be subjected to vulgar language or behavior by anyone—including the President of the United States.”

Meanwhile, as of this writing (3:27 p.m. ET on Jan. 14), the GoFundMe titled “TJ Sabula is a patriot!!” sits at $417,094. Almost 19,000 people have donated, and 141 have written comments.

The top two contributors to the GoFundMe donated $5,000. One of them did so anonymously, while the other is Jim & Stacey Cornette. If those names sound familiar, it is because Jim Cornette has been a professional wrestling manager, booker, and historian for over 50 years. His wife, Stacey, was also involved in wrestling under the name Synn.
