I’d consider myself to be a slightly gambling woman. I make small wagers on college football games and I’ve been to Las Vegas. However, picking Genesis to win is always a smart move because this brand hasn’t failed yet. So, the Genesis X Gran Equator is a safe bet as it goes where the brand has never dared before.

Check out the Genesis X Gran Equator concept

Ten years ago, Genesis launched as a luxury brand with only two sedans. People thought it would fail with such small offerings. However, those people were wrong as the brand has exploded with eight models, including luxury SUVs and EVs.

Seriously, I could go on about their sales growth, especially in North America, but I’ll jump to the point here. Genesis asked me if they could be successful in the off-roading space, and the answer is YES.

The brand revealed its new Genesis X Gran Equator concept that could take the brand in a totally different direction. It explores the idea of tackling the wild with uncompromising luxury and comfort.

Look at the sophisticated, rugged design of this two-door SUV with the classic two-line design language. The roof rails, split tailgate, and chunky tires suggest durability and capability for adventuring.

Plus, the tailgate features pop-up chairs, so you can relax and enjoy being at peace in nature. It also has swiveling front seats, analog and digital gauges, and a linear design to prevent distractions.

The name Equator is inspired by the finest stallion in the world of Arabian horses. It’s a symbol of endurance, agility, and refined power that translates to a vehicle that is elegant and capable as it’s engineered to handle extreme conditions with grace.

This concept may enter production based on how drivers react to the concept, and I’m hoping others are just as excited about it as I am. I need to see how it will compare to options such as the Land Rover Defender, Lexus GX, and Mercedes G Wagon.
