Gene Simmons crashes Lincoln Navigator into truck
76-year-old Gene Simmons, the ‘God of Thunder’ rockstar of KISS, is recovering at home after a dangerous car accident. Luckily, he will make a speedy recovery, but things could have been much worse.
The bass player might not be able to rock and roll all night or party every day for a bit. According to NBC 4 Los Angeles, he was driving his Lincoln Navigator SUV in Malibu, California.
Witnesses reported the crash to the police around 1 PM in the 25000 block of the Pacific Coast Highway. Firefighters and other emergency responders immediately responded to the scene.
Simmons shared with first responders that he fainted or passed out behind the wheel. Then his luxury SUV crossed several lanes of traffic before striking a parked pickup truck.
If the truck didn’t stop the SUV may have taken a plunge into the sand along the beach or the ocean. Also, the airbags didn’t deploy, but somehow he didn’t have a single scratch.
Gene’s wife, Shannon, mentioned that he hates drinking water and was dehydrated while taking a new medication. It tracks that a rockstar legend prefers harder beverages. She hopes he will give up driving, but family members shared that he will keep making shorter trips.
The Lincoln had a slightly crumpled hood, but it doesn’t look too bad. However, the pickup truck appears to be totaled.
