Imagine reaching for your shift lever and having it break off in your hand—not exactly the driving experience Ford pickup truck enthusiasts signed up for. Yup, Ford’s recall saga continues, adding another chapter to its already hefty 2025 lineup. This time, it’s the 2025 Ford Super Duty pickup trucks recall taking center stage.

As I previously reported, Ford owners were already grappling with 24 recalls in the first 12 weeks of 2025. Now, the plot thickens. The latest twist involves a defect where the steering column shifter might have been improperly welded, potentially detaching from the steering column. This flaw could prevent drivers from shifting into park, raising the risk of vehicle rollaways and, consequently, accidents.

2025 Ford Super Duty trucks recall

Ford assures us there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue—yet. But with 11,745 Ford trucks subject to the recall, the problem is a ticking time bomb. The culprits are the steering column shifters bearing part numbers PC3C-3C529-AE or PC3C-3C529-DG, courtesy of supplier Nexteer Corporation. The recall includes some 2025 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 trucks assembled between December 14, 2024, and February 5, 2025.

Ford’s truck recall game plan? Dealers will inspect the steering column serial numbers and replace the faulty columns as necessary, all on the house. Owners should keep an eye out for communications from Ford, slated to begin on April 24, 2025. The reference number for this recall is 25S20.

For those seeking more information, Ford Customer Service can be reached at 1-866-436-7332. Alternatively, the NHTSA offers resources at 1-888-327-4236 or via their website at www.nhtsa.gov.

In the grand scheme, this Ford’s latest truck recall underscores the importance of rigorous quality control. While the automaker’s proactive approach is commendable, one can’t help but wonder: when will the recall carousel slow down for Ford owners?
