Ford is having one of those years where the recalls just keep coming. The automaker has been double-checking that software recalls were installed correctly. The result was so many repeat recalls, Ford issued 24 recalls total in the first 12 weeks of 2025. It looks like Q2 will be no different. Ford just issued recalls for both electric “E-Transit” vans and regular, internal combustion, Transits.

The Ford Transit EV battery pack recall

At the bottom of Ford’s E-Transit EV is a large, heavy battery pack. Ford admitted the side rails that support that battery pack are at risk of bucking and cracking. Ford is not concerned about the entire battery falling out of its vans. But it is warning that water can enter the battery. Water and a high voltage battery don’t play nicely together, and the vehicle could potentially catch on fire.

Ford isn’t aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this malfunction. But six E-Transit owners have field warranties over battery side rails. So Ford is recalling 457 E-Transit vans to inspect them and replace any buckled or cracked battery rails. In the meantime, Ford suggests you don’t park your E-Transit in your garage.

The regular Ford Transit van also facing a recall

Internal combustion Transit drivers are not free from the Ford recall frenzy. Ford recently recalled thousands of Transit vans for rearview cameras that just don’t work. This was Ford recall 23S48. Now, Ford’s warning drivers that 4,625 may not have been fully repaired. Dealerships will take another look at these vans and may replace the computer module or wiring if necessary.
