Ford Makes up for Tons of Recalls With Secret Discounts
Shh, this isn’t something that Ford is advertising. But it’s no secret that the automaker has been slamming its drivers with tons of recalls. One after another! In an effort to retain frustrated customers, there are secret discounts to take advantage of.
Ford offers secret discounts to customers frustrated by recalls
Sometimes, I hear about Ford recalls so often that I wonder if the ‘Found on Road Dead,’ reputation is real. That’s probably slamming the automaker too hard, but how do you enjoy a truck if it’s constantly in the shop?
The automaker has issued roughly 134 or more recalls so far this year. But there are still a few weeks left. The trucks and SUVs with the most recalls for the year include the Ford Bronco, Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, Ford F-150, and Super Duty models.
Customers have been a bit frustrated after receiving multiple notices to return to the dealership for service in the mail. But according to CarsDirect, Ford is quietly trying to make things right with secret discounts.
Dealerships offer a new Owner Retention Program that provides owners with serious service and repair problems a discount of 10% worth the MSRP of a new vehicle. It’s a private offer, so it’s not advertised, and it includes Lincoln vehicles.
However, the F-150 Raptor and commercial vehicles are exempt. It’s not offered in California. The Discount is capped at $6,000 for Ford models and $10,000 for Lincolns. Also, the automaker offers a new warranty for cars up to 15 years old.
The fine print mentions that vehicles are eligible if they have been in service for less than 36 months or with 36,000 miles or less. If you don’t want a new ride, the offer can be transferred to members of your household. Just remember that you have to ask the dealership about it.
