[Watch] Old Ford Ranger Heroically Tows Semi-Truck to Safety
Who needs a tow truck when a trusty old Ford Ranger is around? They don’t make trucks like they used to, which is a shame. Maybe they should, as one 90’s model just pulled a semi-truck hauling cars to safety.
An older Ford Ranger tows a semi-truck to safety.
There’s a reason why older Ford Ranger trucks are legendary. They live up to their ‘Ford F#$%ING RANGER’ catch phrase. Models that still exist in good condition are still pulling off massive feats.
One truck that looks like a 1995 model is being called the little red Ford Ranger that could after towing a semi-truck hauling cars to safety.
According to Reddit, the car hauler was stuck in an intersection as the trailer tongue goat caught on a bump. So, the driver of a Ranger offered to help. Witnesses expected the worst as a tow rope was connected to the rear bumper of the Ranger and the front of the tractor-trailer.
As the Ranger accelerated and its rear end dipped, causing onlookers to fear that the truck was about to suffer significant damage. But it quickly pulled forward, getting the trailer free. Fans have been sharing their love of the legendary Ranger as they celebrate its success.
Old timers claim trucks from the 90’s did this type of stuff all the time. For the record, the 1995 Ranger is rated to tow up to 6,000 lbs. The modern Ranger can tow up to 7,700 lbs. But the semi-truck and trailer, loaded with an SUV and a Ford F-150, probably weighed more.
I have a 1991 Ford Ranger with 38,000 miles on it, and this story makes me appreciate it even more. However, I don’t have the stones to rescue semi-trucks with it.
