Florida man charged for hiding tracker on victim’s car, cameras in house, and meth possession
Imagine you are redecorating your house and go to move a mask hanging on your wall. Behind it: a camera you’ve never seen before. When a victim reported Jared Levi MacDaniels, they likely had no idea the stalking complaint would evolve into a voyeurism investigation, then a drug bust, and finally Federal weapons charge.
Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Criminal Investigations Detectives began investigating MacDaniels for stalking. The police found he had indeed hidden a camera behind a Guy Fawkes mask in the victim’s home. In addition, he had placed a tracker in their car.
The sheriff’s office enlisted the help of the ATF and executed a search warrant on MacDaniels’ Palm City home. What authorities found was a trove of weapons and drugs. This included LSD, crystal methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, THC gummies, and various inhalants.
The ATF reported it is pursuing additional weapons-related charges. As things stand, MacDaniels is charged with installation of a tracking device, video voyeurism, possession of psilocybin with intent, possession of crystal methamphetamine, possession of LSD, possession of a substituted cathinone, possession of THC gummies, and possession of dangerous inhalant chemicals. He is being held without bond.
