Video’s emerged of 31-year-old Jacob Novak hitting a school bus while driving so fast, his Jaguar became wedged beneath the vehicle. Thankfully, there were no students on board. But that was just the start of this Florida man’s wild day.

Someone happened to be filming a cellphone video that caught red the moment the low Jaguar coupe, moving fast, drove directly beneath the stopped bus. It doesn’t look like Novak saw the bus at all, making no effort to slow down. You can see that video embedded below:

The driver was the only occupant of the bus, and they were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The corner of the bus caved in the center and passenger-side of Novak’s roof. But he was miraculously fine.

It’s almost as bizarre a story as the Florida man who climbed aboard a school bus to cuss out the driver.

The rest of Novak’s day after hitting a school bus

Some reports say Novak also went to the hospital and was cleared of injuries before being released. Others say he was released from the scene of the accident. He was cited for following the bus too closely. But Lee County Sheriff’s deputies may wish they hadn’t let Novak go so quickly.

He reportedly walked home. Two hours later, deputies were called about Novak again. This time for a domestic disturbance. He was arrested for battery after reportedly pushing a woman during an argument at his home.

Were they arguing about the crash? Was it an argument already brewing? Was Novak suffering from some manner of head injury? The details are unclear. Novak does have a history of drug possession and battery charges.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno points out that deputies have already given two citations at the same bus stop. “This video is incredibly hard to watch, and I thank God no students were on the bus, and no one was seriously injured. I can ensure our Traffic Unit and 4th Precinct deputies have increased patrols in this area and will not tolerate reckless driving of any kind.”
