Florida man gets busted with over $600k of cocaine in truck
For some reason, a Florida man was traveling pretty far from home when he found himself in loads of trouble. It all started one evening in Fort Wayne, Indiana, when police officers spotted a pickup truck speeding.
They initiated a traffic stop, and the driver pulled over. Coincidentally, the suspect, 25-year-old Jordon Lanier, was stopped by Uniformed Narcotics Division detectives instead of traffic cops.
As a result, a K-9 officer of the goodest boy on the force did an open-air sniff and alerted the detectives to the presence of narcotics.
They asked Lanier to exit the pickup to investigate. Upon inspecting the truck, they found a hidden compartment. They had to remove the access panel to see what was inside.
With a bit of a shock, they found 30 individually wrapped kilos of cocaine. According to 21 Alive News, the kilos came to about 66 lbs. It has an estimated street value of $600,000 to $800,000.
Lanier was charged with dealing in cocaine. This is a felony that can result in a potential prison sentence of up to 30 years. All he had to do was obey traffic laws! If he wasn’t speeding, he might not have been pulled over. But maybe he was jacked up on his own supply.
