It’s no secret that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has raised some feathers since the beginning of the year. His Nazi-esque “gesture” and his slashing of thousands of federal jobs—especially from agencies like the NHTSA that police his business, haven’t earned him much favor.

Musk haters nationwide banded together to tank his stock prices by vandalizing Tesla EVs. At first, they targeted privately owned EVs. When they caught on that it only hurt citizens and not Musk, they stepped up their game. Vandals from various states have committed 80 total acts of arson, destruction, and defacement over the past few months.

As a result, Tesla’s stock prices have dropped substantially. Musk reportedly begged current employees not to sell their shares, which is never a good sign. Sales of Teslas have dropped by 42% in the first quarter in the States, and by even more across the pond.

Now, Trump is calling in the feds

Trump’s reaction to the attacks on a “great American company” was to threaten anyone caught with a domestic terrorism charge. On social media, he threatened to send three vandals caught in the act to prison in El Salvador.

As more incidents are reported, the FBI has assembled a task force specific to catching vandals on March 24 after explosives were found in a Texas showroom. Working in tandem with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the task force aims to “crack down” on protestors, reports CNBC.

“The FBI has been investigating the increase in violent activity toward Tesla, and over the last few days, we have taken additional steps to crack down and coordinate our response,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X.

“This is domestic terrorism. Those responsible will be pursued, caught, and brought to justice.”

The threats won’t stop peaceful Tesla protestors, though

Tesla Takedown, a Texas-based group, plans to organize protests in front of all 300 showrooms in the nation.

“Elon Musk is destroying our democracy, and he’s using his fortune he built at Tesla to do it,” read’s the group’s Facebook page. “We are taking action at Tesla to stop Musk’s illegal coup.”

They encourage people to sell their Teslas, and aim to inspire those curious about Tesla vehicles to look elsewhere.

A spokesperson confirmed their group is not violent, and they don’t encourage or condone the destruction of unsold vehicles.
