Texas family finds crashed police SUV in their pool
When families swim in the comfort of their backyard pool, they probably aren’t worried about being hit by a car. But one family in Texas narrowly missed being taken out by a police SUV as it crashed through their fence, landing in the pool.
Texas family finds police SUV in pool
Two children could have been hit by a police SUV while swimming in their backyard. Luckily, they got out of the water moments before a Ford Explorer police interceptor burst through the fence.
It landed on the side of the pool, dangling in the water. The incident occurred in Houston, Texas, at the corner of White Oak and Cartland.
Neighbors gathered after hearing the commotion and were confused. The police officer who was driving the SUV was spotted limping around. Firefighters shared that he was taken to a local hospital with a lower leg injury.
According to Click 2 Houston, the officer was attempting to make a traffic stop after spotting an erratic driver. While speeding up to stop this person, the officer hit another SUV that was crossing the street.
The impact sent the police cruiser to the side and through the fence. Residents were concerned because this is a heavily trafficked area. Plus, the sidewalks are popular for pedestrians. The situation could have been much worse!
There is an ongoing investigation into the incident by the Houston Police Department. It seems like the erratic driver got away this time! Hopefully, the pool can still be used to beat the August humidity. At least the wreck happened at the end of summer instead of the start.
