Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, has 13 children. Several times divorced, his children have four separate mothers. These mothers include a Canadian author, a singer, an executive at a company Musk owns, and the latest is a conservative influencer and children’s book author named Ashley St. Clair.

In February, St. Clair took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that her child was Musk’s, claiming tabloids planned to announce the story. Musk immediately gave her $2.5M and pledged another $500k in child support every year. He later wrote on X: “I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but am not against finding out.” Presumably he meant through a paternity test.

St. Clair has since gone public and said “Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born. You refused.” She claimed that Musk cut 60% of her child support payment for “disobedience.” But it’s unclear whether that’s 60% of the $500k a year, or whether the original payments were much higher.

When Musk didn’t respond, Ashley St. Clair took things a step further. She sold her Tesla to Carvana. When she emerged onto the street to hand over the keys to the tow truck driver, reporters were waiting.

St. Clair: I’m selling it because I need to make up for the 60% cut that Elon made to our son’s child support.

Q: Why do you think he did that?

Clair: That’s a great question for him.

Q: Do you feel like he was sort of, like, vindictive against you in some way?

Clair: Yeah, that’s his modus operandi, when women speak out.

Q: When was the last time you spoke to him or tried to speak to him?

Clair: February 13th.

Q: But he’s just not responding to you at all?

Clair: No.

Q: And how would you characterize the way he’s going about this?

Clair: You can check the stocks. I’m not the only one who is cleaning up after his messes.
