From time to time, drivers get the ick from popular truck trends. For example, the Carolina Squat or hanging testicles from the rear bumper is the source of serious eye rolling. Now, an illegal truck modification is frustrating drivers more than ever.

Drivers can’t stand this illegal truck trend

Many motorists are seeing a truck trend in traffic that is simply being considered as idiotic. Drivers are tired of seeing lifted trucks with oversized tires.

One Reddit user posted a photo of a pickup with tall and wide tires and went on a rant. Another user said they are “so sick of these chuckle f**** in pickups.

Then someone complained about how the drivers of these pickups drive aggressively all over the road, leave high beams and light bars on, and convert their fog lights to additional LED high beams.

Plus, with all the extra salt and gravel on the roads for winter, the tires toss stones everywhere, cracking windshields.

Oversized tires are illegal in most states as they can be dangerous. In some places, the tires require fender coverage to prevent throwing rocks and debris. Also, states limit the legal width of vehicles to 8 to 8.5 feet. So, if the tires extend too far, it’s illegal.

Tires are required to be rated for the vehicle’s weight and to maintain safe road contact. Massive tires impact stability, steering, and braking. They can also make speedometer readings inaccurate.

If trucks are noncompliant with road safety laws, you’ll be subject to being stopped by the police for fines and penalties. Plus, your insurance provider could increase your premiums or refuse coverage.
