Shout out to the drivers who told MotorBiscuit how they really feel. We asked y’all to describe the Chevy’s lineup in five words or less. Some people didn’t even need five words to share their disappointment in Chevrolet

Drivers describe Chevy’s lineup in five words or less without hesitating

We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of Chevrolet’s reputation. Upon asking drivers to describe Chevy’s lineup in five words or less, we learned that the brand doesn’t have the reputation that it used to.

Many people said it was bland, cookie cutter, boring, overpriced, unreliable, forgettable, generic, cheap, and bland. However, some folks did share that the brand is affordable and stylish. The Corvette is mostly loved.

Overall, the lineup is considered to be boring, unreliable, and overpriced. People want fewer EVs, more cars, and more V8 engines.

Stop Making EVs

“Think they stop making EVs” “We want V8s and power not EVs” “Government Motors”

Many commenters shared that they think Chevy is building too many electric vehicles. This is how drivers feel about most automotive brands. As mandates get pulled, automakers are receiving less pressure to go green and fully electric.

As a result, Ford, Toyota, Chevy, Honda, Jeep, and more are cutting EV production. Plus, EVs are being met with less demand than expected.

According to Electrek, General Motors is halting production of the Cadillac Lyriq and Vistiq. Production of the GMC Hummer EV, Chevy Bolt EV, and Cadillac Escalade IQ is being reduced.

Bring back the cars

“No actual cars” “Bring back a full size sedan” “Wheres the d*** cars at?” “Too many crossovers” “Are they still building cars?”

Some drivers ask where the muscle cars and sedans went. Which is interesting, as trucks and SUVs are more popular. The only remaining ‘car’ is the Corvette since the Malibu was discontinued in 2024.

Other models that are missed include the Impala, Cruze, Sonic, and Camaro. Rumors suggest that the Camaro could return as a four-door electric SUV. However,  new clues claim it could return as a two-door coupe with a traditional gas-powered engine.

Poor quality and unreliable

“All are throw away cars” “Timing chain and valve issues” “Quality is terrible at best” “Overpriced and lack quality” “Not worth my time” “Trash cans on wheels”

According to the 2025 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, Chevy’s lineup isn’t bad. It’s based on the number of problems reported per 100 vehicles after three years of ownership. A lower score equals a higher ranking.

Lexus is the brand with the highest quality and a score of 130. Chevrolet landed in sixth place with a score of 169. The study average is 202. So, the lineup doesn’t have the best quality, but it’s above average.

Overall, the reliability across the lineup varies. But according to RepairPal, the brand earns a reliability score of 3.5 out of 5.0, which is above average. It ranks 20th out of 32 car brands. Also, the annual average repair cost of a Chevy is $649, which is above average.
