This is one of those wild real-life stories you just couldn’t make up. Apparently, someone was riding an electric “Bird” scooter by Felix Chevrolet in LA when they saw something they couldn’t ignore. That something was a 2025 Corvette Z06 finished in a beautiful light “Rapid Blue.” And this scooter rider decided they simply had to have the new car.

Did our Chevy fan scoot down to the local credit union on Monday to see if he could afford a new Z06? Nope, he decided to take a more direct route. He used his e-Scooter to smash through a side window. Then, he somehow found the keys to the new Z06.

If the scooter could break one window, it stands to reason that the Corvette would have no trouble with the other window. But he hadn’t counted on one thing.

The blue Corvette smashed through the window, and its front wheels bounced over the tall, metal window frame. But then it appears the car “high centered” with the bottom of the vehicle stuck on the frame.

With the car off the ground, its rear wheels likely couldn’t get enough traction to push forward. Even with the Z06’s high-revving 670-horsepower V8. At some point, the passenger-side door flopped open and got seriously bent.

So did the would-be Corvette thief get away? Absolutely not. Security officers patrolling the nearby University of Southern California campus heard all the commotion. They arrived on the scene in time to detain the suspect, and later handed him over to LAPD.
