Three men allegedly stole $60k worth of diesel

Three men in Memphis, Tennessee allegedly stole $60,000 worth of diesel, or about 18,000 gallons. Two of the men have been arrested and the Covington Police Department has a warrant for the third suspect.

Allegedly, they struck multiple gas stations across the south. The investigation into this matter started when Covington police officers learned about fraudulent credit sales at a gas station on East Liberty Avenue.

According to Fox 13 Memphis, 54 fraudulent sales occurred between September 9 and December 2. They added up to about $25,000.

Gas station employees shared that they saw suspicious trucks fill barrels with diesel and charge it to fraudulent credit accounts. Similar incidents occurred in Fayette and Hardeman counties.

Officers got a warrant for the first suspect, 22-year-old Ryan Hughs. Detectives found several debt cards and cellphones at his home. They also found his Ford F-350 that was confirmed to be used during the thefts.

The second suspect was identified as 23-year-old Jordan Sykes. He was arrested four days after Ryan was. Both men were charged with theft over $1,000.

However, the third suspect is still at large. He has been identified as Andre Davis. He is a wanted fugitive who is avoiding capture by law enforcement. Andre Davis might be seen in a green Ford F-250 with a Tennessee tag or a white Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a Mississippi tag.
