There’s interesting news for NASCAR fans. They can watch their favorite Chevrolet race around the track, but they can’t buy it. The Chevy Camaro was discontinued for the public, but professional drivers still sit behind the wheel.

The Chevy Camaro lives on in NASCAR

Check out the latest Chevrolet stock car for NASCAR Cup Series races. It’s still a Chevy Camaro, even though the sixth-generation model was discontinued in 2023.

A new generation is coming to the track for General Motors-affiliated teams. This indicates that the Camaro will stick around for years.

The new body is designed to provide the look of the Carbon Performance Pack. This was an aftermarket accessories kit available for existing Z71 models.

The car is getting a larger power dome hood bulge, restyled front grille, and retrofitted rocker panels. It has an improved aerodynamic platform that can be optimized for various race tracks.

Ford’s new Mustang debuted in 2024 and has won the last two season finales and won a championship with an optimal design. It stands out as the biggest Chevy rival.

However, Ford fans can still go buy a new Mustang. Chevy fans are left hanging. Rumors suggest that the Camaro could return as a fastback electric SUV.

But as interest in EVs fades, there have been hints about the Camaro returning as a coupe with a hybrid powertrain. Decisions could be made based on how well the Chevy Blazer SS EV performs.

Also, Chevrolet customers can voice their opinions about wanting the muscle car to return. A gas-powered Mustang fighter could be more popular than a Mustang Mach-E rival.

Either way, Chevrolet has shared that it’s not done with the ‘Camaro’ name. We could see the next-generation model arrive by the end of 2026.
