Here are the cheapest F1 race weekends to attend
Kym Illman is and Formula 1 accredited photographer and motorsports enthusiasts. He recently ranked the cheapest F1 weekend’s to attend. How? He combined the price of a three-day ticket with a hotel room if you check in on Thursday, out on Monday — as quoted by Hotels.com. The cheapest Grand Prix weekend to attend is….Azerbaijan at $183. Next is Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Qatar. The F1 Destinations website went a bit deeper and ranked the F1 GP weekends that offer the most racing for your money.
But first, which GP on Illman’s list is the cheapest in Europe? That goes to the Hungarian Grand Prix: $351.
Unfortunately for thrifty F1 fans in the U.S., the Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas Grand Prix are among the most expensive weekends to attend. But the Grand Prix in Mexico City is a short plane ride away, and more affordable than most F1 races.
Which F1 race weekend offers the most value?
According to the F1 Destinations website, the Hungarian Grand Prix offers the best value of any race weekend. Flights from the EU are cheap, and Budapest has good hotels and great dining options. The website adds, “The city is one of few on the calendar which doesn’t capitalise by excessively raising accommodation prices when the sport is nearby.”
The “General Admission” tickets went up 75% for 2025 because of an all-new bleacher–and it’s still a bargain. A GA ticket here is known for “offering panoramic views around the track – and it’s relatively inexpensive too, ranking as the ninth cheapest of the year.”
The website also called out the Bahrain Grand Prix. A three-day ticket includes Formula 2 and Formula 3 races, a free pit lane walk, and in the past its come with two extra days of pre-season testing.
While Illman ranked the Austrian Grand Prix among the most expensive, for combined ticket and hotel prices, F1 Destinations disagrees. That’s because you can choose a trackside campsite to save some serious cash. You can see Kym’s guide in the video embedded below:
