Fans beg CEO to bring the Dodge Viper back without ruining it
Some executives under Stellantis don’t have the best reputation. Unfortunately, some lifelong fans of Jeep, Dodge, and Ram think they have been ruining cars by making terrible decisions. The Dodge Viper could be back on the table, but drivers bed the current Dodge CEO not to ruin it.
Fans worry that the CEO will ruin the new Dodge Viper
Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO, has shared a few hints about what the future holds at Stellantis. According to The Sun, the automaker has finally acknowledged the stout pushback against going fully electric.
Hopefully, this mistake wasn’t realized before it’s too late to turn things around as Dodge, Jeep, and Ram face declining sales.
While he thinks the electrification of the Dodge Charger was the right move, sales are stagnant. The electric Dodge Charger Daytona wasn’t met with enthusiasm.
However, HEMI V8 engines are going back into production. Rumors suggest that the Charger will go back to its V8 roots.
McAlear also shared that the Dodge Viper was his favorite car. He’s not sure that there is a need for another Dodge car in the lineup, but the want is there.
He shared that there could be a high end sedan available and along with something more affordable. Apparently, starting around $30,000 makes a car more affordable these days, but the Dodge Charger EV starts at $60,000.
So, in comparison, yes, the new Viper could be much easier to purchase. It’s rumored to only have the basics and no unnecessary frills.
But fans are worried that he could ruin the Dodge Viper. First of all, don’t make it fully electric. Allow drivers with gas and hybrid options. Also, fans don’t want the new Viper to be FWD.
