California man drives Tesla into crowd after bar fight

A fight broke out at the Underground bar at E. Cirrus Avenue in Redlands, California, around 1:30 AM. The altercation involved several people.

After the incident, one of the participants drove away in a 2022 Tesla. But he must have wanted to get the last laugh as he turned around and went back towards the bar. The driver accelerated into a crowd of people, striking four pedestrians.

The Redlands Police Department shares, “The impact caused the driver to lose control of the car and collide with the curb. At the same time, an unknown suspect fired several shots, striking the window of one business and the door of another.”

According to ABC 7, no one was injured during the shooting. The four victims in the hit-and-run crash were transported to the hospital for emergency care. They suffered major injuries, but two have since been released.

But the Tesla driver is still at large. He fled west, leaving a trail of leaked fluids. The electric car has fluids such as coolant for the battery/motors, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid.

Investigators shared that one witness captured the entire incident on video. But are still following up on leads by investigating anyone they can identify from the large group of people.

Anyone with information related to the suspect is asked to contact Redland Police Detective Thomas Williams at 909-557-6814.
