Indiana woman gets busted with meth while driving ice cream truck
When you hear the ice cream truck, you expect to be moments away from pure, frozen joy. However, you could be close to hard drugs as well. One Indiana woman was busted with meth after breaking traffic laws in an ice cream truck.
Indiana woman caught with meth in ice cream truck
People were delighted to hear the sound of an ice cream truck coming their way until they realized that the driver was intoxicated.
Police officers along the Indiana-Kentucky border initiated a traffic stop after they caught the truck speeding. According to NBC Chicago, the incident occurred on New State Road 237.
The driver didn’t play it cool once she was pulled over. An officer obtained probable cause to search the vehicle. They found methamphetamine, controlled substances, legend drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
Officers shared that the suspect, identified as Sherri Pool, was also operating under the influence. That’s pretty dangerous as kids love sprinting full speed at ice cream trucks.
A certified Drug Recognition Expert was called to the scene to investigate the driver for impairment. She faces multiple charges including OWI on a controlled substance.
Also, instead of using a legitimate ice cream truck, the driver was operating a sketchy white van. Stickers for off-brand treats covered the windows and doors.
It’s unclear if Pool owns the vehicle or if it belongs to an employer. Plus, it might be held as evidence. But something tells me this is one of the trucks that cautious parents would want their kids to avoid.
Hopefully, there is a nicer truck for kids to enjoy in the absence of this meth-fueled rig.
