Sorry, the Best SUV Brand Isn’t Toyota or Honda
There’s no doubt that Toyota SUVs and Honda models have a great reputation for reliability. However, do those brands make the best SUVs overall? Apparently, not. A Korean automaker dominates with the Best SUV Brand award for the second year in a row.
Toyota and Honda fail to win the Best SUV Brand award
Do you know which automaker has the Best SUV Brand? According to U.S.News, Hyundai SUVs are the best in the industry.
The ‘2025 Best SUV Brand’ award recognizes industry-wide excellence in the automotive space. It reflects the ultimate combination of safety, quality, reliability, space, convenience, and connectivity.
Hyundai competed against 39 United States automotive brands to win for the second consecutive year. It’s also Hyundai’s sixth win in the past five years.
It helps that the automaker offers a variety of solid powertrain options, including gas, hybrid, PHEV, and fully electric powertrains.
The award-winning lineup includes the Palisade, Tucson, Santa Fe, Kona, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Ioniq 9. Also, in my humble opinion, the Hyundai Santa Cruz truck deserves to be included.
But Hyundai doesn’t totally dominate across the board. Ram wins Best Truck Brand, and Honda wins Best Car Brand. The Best Luxury Brand is Genesis. That’s actually the luxury arm of Hyundai.
Also, despite Hyundai’s push for electrification and excellence, Ford won Best Electric Vehicle Brand. Perhaps building a mid-size truck is going to help Hyundai diversify its dominance.
The 2025 Tucson won Best Compact SUV for the Money, and the Ioniq 5 won Best Electric Vehicle for Families. Plus, the Ioniq 6 wins Best EV Car.
