Washington woman attacks man with machete and SUV
36-year-old Shanale T. Bennett-Wyatt tried to get away after a violent incident at Peanuts Park in Pasco, Washington, after attacking a man.
However, she had a giant teddy bear on the roof of her Ford Expedition, which made it easy to find. Allegedly, she never meant to hit a man with her SUV. However, witnesses at the scene shared a different story.
Witnesses shared that she aggressively pulled into a parking spot by the park. A man was yelling at her, saying, “This is my turf!” Then she jumped out of the Ford Expedition with a machete, swinging at the men.
According to Tri-City Herald, pedestrians jumped in to separate the two and took the machete away. Police officers shared that Bennett-Wyatt got in the SUV, ran over the curb, and hit the man with her SUV.
He fell, and she put her ride in reverse to hit him a second time, but missed. She fled the scene. Officers found the Expedition at the park the next day and apprehended Bennett-Wyatt.
She is charged with first-degree assault and vehicular assault. Allegedly, she acted in self-defense as the man previously assaulted her.
Police officers found the man she struck with a cast on his leg. Unfortunately, he refused to talk to them about the incident.
