Washington man used stolen truck and a harpoon to hit an ATM

Police officers in Coupeville, Washington, need your help identifying a suspect who has been on quite a crime spree. It all started when the Island County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an attempted robbery.

The incident occurred around 5:30 AM at the Wells Fargo ATM on NW Birch Street. Surveillance footage shows a man trying to steal cash from the machine with a stolen truck

The truck is a Ford F-250 model that was reported stolen from a parking lot near the Island County Courthouse. According to Kiro 7, the truck had a homemade harpoon welded to the trailer hitch.

After ramming the F-250 into the machine failed to break into it, the suspect tried to pry it open with a crowbar. That didn’t work either, and he fled the scene. The ATM has about $130,000 in damage. Also, the truck was abandoned on Ebey Road witha significant amount of damage.

In the video, the man is wearing an orange hoodie, a pale green hat, and a blue bandana. Anyone with information related to the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact the Coupeville Marsh’s Office via the ICOM dispatch center at 360-679-9567.
