‘There have been endless problems’ The most annoying Ford Bronco issues after 3 years
A couple has had a Ford Bronco model for about three years now. They’ve put it through the paces and struggled with a few different problems. So, here is what you need to know before buying one.
The worst Ford Bronco problems after three years of ownership
TikTok user @jessmcswag has owned a 2022 Ford Bronco with her husband for about three years now. But it hasn’t been all bread and roses.
Jess admits that the Bronco looks great, inside and out. But its style isn’t enough to outweigh its problems. Despite only having 26,000 miles on the odometer, it’s been to the shop multiple times.
But her husband did have a massive lift installed by a third party, so that’s a red flag. Apparently, the large tires rub so badly while turning that the alignment gets messed up.
Next, she complains about the electronics. Apple CarPlay and her music randomly shut off. Sometimes the Bluetooth won’t connect.
Then the Bronco doesn’t have enough space for families or taller folks. Car seats hardly fit in the rear. Rear passengers feel crushed and claustrophobic as well. If the couple has another baby, they plan to get another car because there’s no room for another body.
Jess also complains that her Bronco burns gas.
I’ve reached out to jessmcswag for more information about the lift and tire size. These can impact the fuel economy. Also, the lift may have been installed incorrectly. The Bronco gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and up to 22 mpg on the highway.
Does the Bronco have electrical problems?
2021 – 2023 Ford Bronco SUVs are known for having electrical issues. There was a recall issued for the 12-volt battery because it could suddenly lose power while driving. However, that should have been corrected for free.
Also, drivers complain about the infotainment system. It’s prone to freezing with malfunctioning radios and backup cameras. But Ford has released software updates to remedy the problem. In some cases, the wiring harness might need to be replaced.
How much cargo space does the Ford Bronco have?
According to U.S. News, the four-door Ford Bronco provides 35.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and up to 77.6 cubic feet total. That’s a solid amount of room for camping gear and equipment.
However, I’ve reviewed three Bronco models, and I’ve been shocked by the lack of passenger space every time. In the video, Jess and her husband are tall. I’m a hobbit at 5’1” and I find the backseat to be too tight.
I would only put two people of my size in the backseat. There’s no way three of me could fit. But it’s a performance off-roading SUV, so of course, it’s not the best option for growing families.
