No matter what, haters are going to hate. Sometimes people are disgusted by giant pickups even though they make drivers feel great. They claim people don’t ever use them for truck stuff. However, a new study proves that a high number of owners use their trucks for work.

How many people use their trucks for work?

It’s time to tell the people who complain about those who never use their pickups for hauling or towing the real facts. A new study by American Trucks found that 70% of truck owners are using their rides to foot the bills.

A majority of drivers have turned to gig economy opportunities to help pay for the cost of owning, maintaining, and insuring their pickups.

It’s a pretty smart idea with how expensive things are getting. Plus, owners constantly get asked for help moving or hauling items anyway. So, why not get paid with actual money instead of pizza?

Owners have been earning about $1,360 per month by pimping out their rides for junk removal, moving, yard-haul-away projects, towing, and deliveries. This brings in about $13,648 annually.

About 13% of owners got a truck with specific earning opportunities in mind. Then 38% picked their rides with extra cheddar in mind. Also, 66% of these side hustlers recommend using pickups to make money, as 62% say it’s financially worth it.

Plus, 35% of these owners plan to expand their truck-based work into a full-time business opportunity during the next year.

Also, the best working trucks have been ranked. Around 44% think Ford models have the best ROI, while 35% picked Toyota models and 29% went with Chevrolet.
