Tesla Cybertruck owner Ugur Salli’s trip to pick up milk turned into a trip back in time. He called it a “Pennsylvannia time-warp!”

He “Stopped by the Amish farm to get some raw milk.” And he deiced to take his new Tesla. The reaction was extreme. “The farmer was amazed by the Cybertruck.”

Salli let the Amish farmer examine the truck, and the man immediately popped the “frunk.” “He couldn’t belive that there was no traditional engine block under the hood.” The two then did an impromptu photoshoot of the Cybertruck next to the Amish farmer’s buggy, which Salli posted on Facebook.

Could an Amish farmer buy his own Tesla Cybertruck?

Commenter Daniel Bass explained, “Some Amish can use solar and battery bank for electricity. . . it’s not to far a leap to electric vehicle.” Commenter Stan Winrich added an interesting point. “The Amish who installed the steel roof on my house in WI were enamored with our EV and even more so with my modified 30MPH electric golf cart. They were going to see if they could get approval for a cart.”

As I’ve written before, some Mennonite and even Amish farmers own internal combustion vehicles. Usually these are off-road vehicles such as tractors. But in some communities, they own work trucks. The fact of the matter is that each individual church community decides what is and isn’t allowed. This is based on their local economy, members’ business needs, and their own reading of the Bible.

Some communities allow members to buy modern vehicles for on-farm use, but insist they fit them with metal wheels instead of tires. Why? So they won’t be tempted to take a quick trip to town. AmishBaskets.com says, ” Rubber tires are seen as a product that can promote sloth and vanity.” If someone spots an Amish-owned Tesla Cybertruck in Pennsylvania with metal wheels, I’ll make sure to cover it.
