80,000 Jeep Wrangler SUVs are under recall due to tire pressure problem
Oh no, there’s another vehicle recall to report. This time, 80,000 Jeep Wrangler models might have to visit a local dealership for service. They could have a problem that prevents the tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) warning light from illuminating.
Jeep Wrangler recall over TPMS issue
Stellantis is recalling 78,000 Jeep Wrangler models from 2024 – 2025 due to a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) malfunction. The remote start antenna cable could be pinched, causing the TPMS warning light to fail to illuminate as intended.
These SUVs currently fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138 for Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems.
The TMPS warning system is supposed to warn drivers of tire pressure that’s outside of the recommended safety limits, as it increases the risk of accidents and injuries. Tires can be dangerously over and under-inflated.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Stellantis will begin notifying owners at risk via mail by September 2, 2025.
You don’t have to wait for snail mail, though. You can see if your vehicle is at risk by entering your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA recall tool.
If your Jeep Wrangler is included, you’ll need to visit a local dealership for service. Technicians will inspect and replace the remote start antenna cable as necessary, free of charge.
You can contact Stellantis customer service at 1-800-853-1403 with any questions you may have. The Stellantis number for this recall is 56C. New models can’t be sold until the recall is repaired.
