New York man with 45 arrests steals pickup truck
Allegedly, 39-year-old Richard Robson has been arrested 45 times since 2009. Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office describe him as a “prolific” lifetime criminal.
His wrap sheet includes 29 felony arrests and 16 misdemeanor arrests, so police officers are pretty familiar with him. So, I have to ask. How was he out on the street? Did he escape prison?
Luckily, officers grabbed him after he racked up even more charges. But he did some serious damage first. According to WHEC, he is believed to be responsible for stealing a pickup truck from a dealership on Marsh Road in Perinton.
Then, 10 days later, he stole items from multiple cars in a parking lot on West Henrietta Road. He is linked to using a stolen credit card at a Mt. Hope Avenue store.
It’s unclear how the truck was stolen. The signal from the keyfob may have been cloned, or he may have hot wired it. But the people with cars left in the parking lot could have been a little more responsible.
I know no one expects to be a target. But locking your car doors and carrying your valuables inside with you makes a massive difference. Also, park in a well lit area and in range of surveillance cameras, if possible.
Robson has been charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property. These are felonies. Plus, he faces a charge for petit larceny.
