3 of the most oversupplied SUVs on the market hail from the Midwest…and they’re all on sale right now
As Q4 gets going, certain automakers are putting their overstocked models on super sale. As it turns out, three of the most oversupplied SUVs on the U.S. market today have roots in the nation’s Heartland. And if you’re looking for a new car, specifically an SUV with American beginnings, you can snag a decent deal today.
Dodge Durango
No surprise that two of the SUVs on this list are from the Stellantis family. According to the Car Dealership Guy, Dodge is offering the Durango with $5,950 in cash discounts or a lease for $379 per month for 36 months with $4,199 due at signing.
While Stellantis is a multinational company headquartered in the Netherlands, Dodge was born in Detroit, Michigan. Its headquarters remain in a nearby suburb. The automaker builds the Durango at its Jefferson North Assembly Plant.
Now, when I looked in my area (Columbus, Ohio), the cash incentives were lower and the lease offers were higher, so you’ll need to confirm offers in your specific market.
The 2024 Dodge Durango offers third-row seating for up to seven passengers and starts at $39,670.

5. Nissan Pathfinder – 0% APR for 36 months plus a $1,500 cash discount.
4. Kia Sorento – 0% APR for 48 months or lease for $269 per month for 24 months with $3,999 down.
3. Dodge Durango – $5,950 in cash discounts…
Ford Escape
I confirmed via Ford’s incentives and offers page that today, the 2024 Escape goes for 1.9% APR for 60 months plus a $1,500 trade assist. Right now, you can also lease the Escape for $349 per month for 36 months with $3,369 due at signing.
While the Escape is built, sold, and named the Kuga in other markets, in the U.S., it’s manufactured at Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky. The Ford Motor Company is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan.
Considering the average new car loan interest rate is 6.84% (Experian), 1.9% ain’t bad at all.
2024 Ford Escape compact SUVs start at $29,495. It’s also the cheapest of the bunch here, but also the smallest with two-row seating for up to five occupants.
Jeep Grand Wagoneer
While it’s the most expensive and largest of the group, the Grand Wagooner is on super-dee-duper sale this month. In fact, until 10/31/2024, Jeep’ll hand you a Grand Wagoneer for 0% APR (qualifiers and terms apply) for 36 months…meaning a zero-interest car loan.
Alternatively, the automaker advertises a 3.9% APR for 72 months.
While Stellantis also owns Jeep, the brand’s primary corporate headquarters are in Auburn Hills, Michigan, just north of Detroit. The Grand Wagooner is assembled nearby at its Warren Truck Assembly plant.
The 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer starts at $91,945 and has three-row seating for eight passengers.
