New EV discounts, who dis? Why, it’s the 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5, of course! Sure, the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles is gone. But that’s fine because the IONIQ 5 is providing savings that are even better.

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 gets incredible discounts

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is something to honking hooray about, y’all. If you don’t believe me, just ask the lovely hosts of My Favorite Murder, as they celebrate wins from the interior.

On September 30, 2025, the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles officially ended. This caused many drivers to expect sales to fall off a cliff. But the $7,500 incentive carries over for all 2025 models.

But according to Hyundai, the discounts are only getting better. The entire lineup has price cuts between $7,600 to $9,800 off of the 2025 lineup’s MSRPs.

For example, the 2025 entry-level Ioniq 5 SE model starts at $42,600. In 2026, the MSRP was reduced to $35,000. The top-spec Limited model started at $58,200 in 2025 and now starts at $48,975 for a $9,225 reduction.

The President and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America shared that the automaker is taking bold steps to ensure the award-winning IONIQ 5 remains a top choice for EV buyers.

The pricing realignment reflects Hyundai’s commitment to delivering exceptional technology and innovation without compromise.

For 2026, the IONIQ 5 gains a standard dual amperage Level 1 / Level 2 combination charger, has a new shade of Sage Silver Matte paint, and vibrant shades of Ultimate Red and Cosmic Blue Pearl colors.

Don’t forget that the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is built in Georgia. The facility is one of the places responsible for adding 90,000 jobs to the United States Economy and contributes $20.1 billion annually.
