Some of the top-selling Kia SUVs in 2023 include the Seltos, Sorento, Soul, Sportage, and Telluride. These five Kia SUV models have made huge sales increases year-over-year and seem to be flying off dealerships in 2023. Kia Media provides a detailed report on the sale growth of these SUVs. Here’s a look at where Kia sales currently stand.

A look at Kia SUVs sales in the U.S. market

The Kia SUV lineup has had quite a performance throughout the first half of 2023. According to Kia Media, the Seltos model has experienced the most amount of growth year-over-year. For example, the Seltos SUV’s year-to-date change is 64% when comparing 2022 to 2023, as only 19,766 units were sold during the first half of 2022 compared to a whopping 32,423 units sold during the first half of 2023.

While the other four Kia SUVs haven’t experienced quite as much growth compared to the Seltos, they’ve still all moved in a positive direction. The Sorento experienced 10% sales increase year-over-year, selling 39,045 units during the first half of 2022 and 42,807 units during the first half of 2023.

The Soul experienced a 26% increase, going from 27,608 units sold during the first half of 2022 to 34,747 units sold during the first half of 2023.

The Sportage also had a nice increase in sales year-over-year, with a nice 37% increase with a jump from 52,356 units sold during the first half of 2022 to 71,889 units sold during the first half of 2023.

Lastly, the Telluride experienced an 18% increase going from 46,893 units sold during the first half of 2022 to 55,284 units sold during the first half of 2023.

Kia SUVs sales seem to be outperforming the market

From the subcompact to the compact to the midsize SUV segment, Kia SUVs are enjoying sales growth across the board. This spike in sales is somewhat surprising given the current state of the economy, rising inflation, and a hurting automotive industry. However, Kia has somehow been able to overcome the many obstacles in its path and achieve significant sales growth over the last year.

If any manufacturer could overcome the odds, it would have to be Kia. The brand is not only known for its affordability but also for delivering vehicles that provide high performance, power, and practicality for the money.

According to Kia Media, the overall sales growth from the first half of 2022 to the first half of 2023 was 18%. The sales jump went from 333,340 Kia units sold during the first six months of 2022 to 394,333 units sold during the first six months of 2023.

The Seltos and Sportage models are both classified as compact SUVs. Kia starts the Seltos around $24,390. In comparison, Kia starts the Sportage at $26,290.
