The Kia Telluride’s reliability has come into question with the recent recall. Telluride and Palisade models are being recalled because of a fire risk. Luckily for drivers, there are plenty of reliable Telluride midsize SUV alternatives.

The Toyota 4Runner is one of the most reliable vehicles ever produced. ISeeCars lists the 4Runner as one of the most reliable longest-lasting SUVs.

The 2022 Toyota 4Runner starts at $38,105. It uses a 4.0-liter V6 engine to make 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. The midsize SUV achieves 16 miles per gallon in the city and 19 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 4Runner comes standard with a smart key system, skid plate covering for the engine and front suspension, and roof rails. The Toyota 4Runner is more expensive than the Kia Telluride, but it offers incredible value over time because of its longevity. It includes plenty of great standard safety features, decent towing capacity, and impressive off-roading prowess.

The Toyota Highlander is a midsize SUV staple

The Toyota Highlander has existed for over two decades. It is a favorite in the midsize SUV segment because it is powerful, reliable, and has a refined interior.

The 2022 Toyota Highlander starts at $35,855. It uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine to make 295 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. The Highlander gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Toyota Highlander doesn’t have the same off-roading chops as the 4Runner, but it’s more affordable. The Highlander also has a better fuel economy than the 4Runner. Both Toyota midsize SUVs are reliable, but the Highlander is the better daily driver because of its gas mileage and affordability.

The 2022 Highlander comes standard with power outside mirrors, a 4.2-inch Multi-Information Display, and five USB ports. MotorTrend praises its high safety scores and driver assistance features.

The Honda Pilot is a great Telluride alternative

The 2022 Honda Pilot is a reliable midsize SUV. The Pilot starts at $38,080. It uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine to make 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The midsize SUV achieves 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Honda Pilot is much more expensive than the Telluride, but it offers lots of cabin and cargo space, great standard features, and a peppy powertrain.

The 2022 Honda Pilot has very few complaints registered on CarComplaints.com. The Kia Telluride is one of the best midsize SUVs on the market, but it doesn’t have a lengthy production history. Its recent recall is part of the nameplate’s growing pains. Consumers don’t have to abandon the Telluride after its new recall, but the midsize SUV certainly isn’t the only game in town.
