Plus, how does the 2022 Palisade SUV compare to the 2022 Kia Telluride?

Car and Driver did a deep dive on the new 2022 Hyundai Palisade and had plenty of good things to say about it. The Palisade sets the bar pretty high with three rows and plenty of room for passengers. Depending on which option you choose, seven or eight seats are available. It is equipped with a 3.8L V6 and gets 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

Car and Driver gave the 2022 Palisade all sorts of accolades. It received a 9.5 out of 10 and received the editors’ choice award. Hyundai included some collision intervention features such as automatic emergency braking (AEB) at city speed, highway speed, and pedestrian detection.

Consumer Reports gave the Hyundai Palisade high scores

Looking at the scores from Consumer Reports, the experts seem to agree. “The three-row Palisade is an extremely functional family vehicle, distinguished by a no-nonsense powertrain and thoughtfully designed interior,” CR said. The 2022 Palisade racked up an 87 out of 100 overall in its overall score. That’s relatively high, even compared to similar SUVs in its class.

Some of the highs noted include the powertrain, interior room, access, and the quiet cabin. The 2022 Hyundai Palisade isn’t the most agile three-row SUV in its class, but it is nimble enough. Consumer Reports noted that the gear selector is finicky and could use a revisit.

If you are wondering about driver assistance and other safety features, Hyundai included plenty of these standard. Forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning (LDW), blind-spot warning (BSW), and rear cross-traffic warning (RCTW) are all included standard. Hyundai also included lane-keeping assist (LKA).

How does the Palisade stack up against the Kia Telluride?

Unfortunately for the 2022 Hyundai Palisade, the 2022 Kia Telluride is almost unbeatable. Car and Driver gave the Telluride SUV a 10 out of 10 rating. It also received the editors’ choice award and made it onto the Car and Driver’s 10 Best list. The company called it attractive, affordable, and practical.

Consumer Reports gave the Telluride a 97 out of 100 overall, in addition to the “recommended” label. The experts are CR gave the SUV almost perfect scores on the road test, predicted reliability, and predicted owner satisfaction.

But you know what else the Kia Telluride has? There are long waits for orders, multiple buyers vying for the same car, and Hyundai dealership markups adding to the price. The 2022 Hyundai Palisade might not have perfect scores, but it is more accessible.
