Driving is a significant part of most people’s lives. This is regardless of whether you’re behind the wheel or if you’re a passenger. Of course, most drivers do all they can to follow road and traffic laws. However, some states have weird laws that seem either unrelated to safety or just plain obvious.

Here’s a look into some of the weirdest road laws around the country.

Florida has some weird laws regarding driving

Florida is one of those states that’s always been unique and adds a ton of character to the country. Of course, its regulations surrounding driving are no different, as it has some weird laws. One of the weirdest is that drivers have to feed the parking meter in order to tie their goat, elephant, or alligator to it.

Another weird law in Florida, specifically in Cape Coral, related to driving is that you can’t keep unlicensed or unregistered cars on your property. Owners need to store these vehicles in an enclosed structure.

Florida isn’t the only state with odd regulations

Connecticut is also a state with weird laws surrounding driving. For example, in New Britain, the speed limit for fire trucks is only 25 miles per hour. Yes, this includes when they are on the way to put out a fire.

Georgia isn’t exempt from this phenomenon of weird laws. In some parts of the state, it’s illegal to spit from a car or bus. This law wouldn’t be all that bad except that it’s perfectly legal to spit from a truck. This is one of those laws that really leaves people scratching their heads.

Hawaii is also on the list. It is illegal in the state to use your hazard lights when the vehicle is in motion. According to Hawaii Car Transport, this is because of how other drivers on the road may react. The vehicles either slowing down or attempting to drive around the vehicle with its hazard lights on could cause a car accident. Notably, Idaho has the same law, except drivers can have them on to alert to an accident.

There are many weird laws around the country that perhaps someone needs to do something about. Some may have their place, but it seems that many are a bit outdated. It’s also important to point out that some laws have special importance in specific states due to the area and the climate.
