Bill Gates and his cars can easily contend with the private collections of most billionaires and celebrities. The wealthy Microsoft magnate may not dress as loudly as celebs like Post Malone, but Gates’ car collection is anything but subtle. Check out a few of Gates’ most noteworthy rides, like the venerable Porsche 959, a Taycan Turbo, and a classic 911.

How many cars has Bill Gates got?

Bill Gates has at least 10 cars as of 2023. His collection includes everything from an ultra-rare Porsche 959 to a Jaguar XJ6.

  • Porsche Taycan Turbo
  • Tesla Model X
  • Porsche 959
  • Porsche 911 (930)
  • Jaguar XJ6
  • BMW 7 Series
  • Chevy Suburban
  • Ferrari 348
  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class
  • Ford Focus

All things considered, Gates’ collection is conservative compared to other vehicle collectors. For instance, Jay Leno owns over 180 cars, despite having a much smaller net worth than Bill Gates. Specifically, Gates’ net worth is around $114 billion at the time of this article, two billion more than the recent GDP of Ukraine, per Worldometers. With a net worth that high, fans might expect Gates to keep warehouses full of remarkable, iconic cars. Still, a few vehicles in the billionaire’s collection are serious collectors’ cars.

What kind of car does Bill Gates drive?

Bill Gates has at least 10 cars, and three are Porsches. First and most noteworthy, Gates owns a Porsche 959, a low-slung 1980s icon with Ferrari F40-fighting qualities. Moreover, the 959 has an average value of around $1.7 million.

Further establishing Porsche as Gates’ favorite automaker, the billionaire bought a 930-generation 911 and a Taycan Turbo.

What is Bill Gates’ fastest car?

Depending on the trim, Bill Gates’ fastest car is either his Porsche Taycan Turbo or Tesla Model X. Specifically, the latest Model X Plaid will hit 60 mph in an astonishing 2.1 seconds, whereas the Taycan Turbo takes closer to 3.1 seconds to perform the same sprint.

Of course, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is faster than the non-S variant, with a 0 to 60 time of just 2.4 seconds. Regarding top speed, though, the Porsche 959 is the king of the hill. Incredibly, the late ‘80s engineering marvel could reach 198 mph.

Does Bill Gates have a Ford Focus?

Bill Gates, one of the wealthiest people on the planet, doesn’t just drive corner-carving Porsches; he also owns a Ford Focus, per CarHP. Let’s face it, the unassuming second-generation Ford Focus might not be anyone’s aspirational ride, but it’s definitely an inconspicuous car for one of the world’s richest people.

Moreover, Gates isn’t the only mega-wealthy driver to employ a run-of-the-mill ride to drive beneath the radar. Jeff Bezos’ famous Honda Accord is a testament to understated cars and their ability to ferry billionaires relatively undetected. Mark Zuckerberg, the man behind Facebook, also drove a Honda Fit. The Fit, like the Accord and the Focus, might not be fancy or fast, but its gas-sipping fuel economy and subtle profile make it a good choice for a privacy-seeking billionaire.
