Peter Corn

Peter Corn joined MotorBiscuit as an Autos Writer in 2020 and brings his quippiest Southern drawl to our table. Having, in his words, “helped” rebuild his dad’s 1959 MGA as a small child, Peter grew up loving vintage cars and trucks, adding motorcycles and all things 4×4 as he went.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Archeology and Creative Writing from the University of Alabama and has since melded his love of driving with storytelling. His voice, full of pleasantries and witticisms, can be enjoyed in The Gentleman Racer, The Vintagent, Gear Patrol, Iron & Air Magazine, and Classic Car Club Magazine.

Peter is a co-founder of both The Colloquial Magazine and The Fire Escape, the official podcast of The Colloquial. In an effort to increase his abilities in “ramping anything with wheels,” Peter has taken track training from Classic Car Club Manhattan and attended Rally School at Monticello Motor Club, where he was coached by eight-time Performance Rally motorsport champion Chris Duplessis.

On a lucky day, we get to hear Peter tell the story of his first car, a jewel of a 1958 Ford Fairlane, into which he dumped more time and money than made sense, but he has no regrets.

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Is Secretly Just a Nissan Rogue

New cars are fun and exciting. Even though that is usually true, many cars share a platform, engine, and sometimes everything but a badge. The thing is, usually, automakers do their best to style them different enough to where most of us don’t notice or don’t care, like the 2021 Supra and BMW Z4, for …

Can the 2022 Nissan Frontier Compete With the 2021 Jeep Gladiator?

Midsize trucks are the name of the game right now. Everyone and their brother is making a small truck. It’s like the 70s all over again, and I, for one, am here for it. Not everyone needs a giant Ford F-150 that can tow a gazillion pounds and carry Central Park in the bed. Most …

The All-New Electric Jeep Wrangler Might Be Named After an X-Men

The only thing that seems to be as much of a guaranteed paycheck as the electric truck is Marvel movies. With the Rivian and Tesla Cyber truck coming in hot, the competition for electric 4x4s is getting pretty stiff. While the Marvel movies have been printing money at will for over a decade, the EV …

Man Gets a Speed Camera Ticket For Gloating About Not Speeding

As speed cameras get more prevalent here in the U.S., we are getting a closer look at what it feels like to drive for many Europeans. Camera-related speeding tickets are becoming the bane of many drivers’ existence both here and abroad. However, our friends across the pond have been dealing with this a lot longer, …

A $1.5 Million Ferrari F40 With No Insurance Totaled On Final Drive Before It Sold

I don’t usually find myself feeling sorry for supercar owners often. Usually, all I know of those types is them posting photos on the internet of them living some cartoonishly-lavish lifestyle. I’m not hating; I’m just saying hardship isn’t usually associated with folks in this particular tax bracket. However, this poor fella in Australia had …

Did Honda Really Just Write ‘FART’ On Every Honda CR-V Hybrid?

I really enjoy when automakers show their human side and add a bit of cheekiness to the products they make. In the late sixties and early seventies, carmakers showed this fun side by offering wild colors, graphics packages, and the legendary Road Runner’s classic “meep meep” horn sound modeled after the cartoon. We can see …

Stolen 1987 Ferrari Mondial Spent 26 Years Hidden Underwater

Like stumbling across a barn find, Lost supercars are a very exciting idea. We are intrigued by this for many reasons, but one of them is wondering if maybe we could be the ones to stumble across the fabled treasure. Well, as of June of 2017, there was one less missing 1987 Ferrari Mondial out …

This Super-Rare Driver License Allows 14-Year-Olds to Drive

Getting one’s driver’s license is typically one of the most significant and exciting days of a young person’s life. It’s the only time in your life when you are buzzing with excitement to drive your mom’s Champagne 1993 Toyota Camry. In most states, the legal driving age is 16. There are some exceptions, like in …

The 2021 Porsche Macan GTS Has 3 Predictably Porsche-y Flaws

Sporty SUVs are coming in hot. The idea is that they perfectly mix the practicality of an SUV with the exciting driving experience of a sports car. But does this ever really work? The Porsche Cayenne and the Macan are some of the most popular examples of the segment. People love them. But, as the …

The 2021 Chevy Equinox Could Save You a Boatload of Cash

Everyone wants a deal. No matter if it’s a free refill or managing to get a Playstation 5 for only $100 over retail, we all want to feel like we saved money when buying something. While haggling the dealership is not most people’s idea of fun, but if done right, you could leave feeling like …
