For the 2023 model year, one of the most sought-after vehicles on dealer lots is the 2023 Kia Sportage. With dynamic and class-leading design aesthetics, it has a low starting MSRP, and a wide range of available and standard entertainment and safety technology. There is nothing else on the marketplace that comes close to the Sportage, at least at its price point.

With all of the different trim options found on vehicles today, it can be hard to figure out which trim level is right for you. Luckily, we have everything broken down for you. Here is everything you need to know about the different 2023 Kia Sportage trims, and how to find which trim level is right for you.

2023 Kia Sportage LX

The Kia Sportage LX acts as the base model for this midsize crossover, but don’t let the base model tag fool you. The Sportage comes out of the gate with a ton of standard features. This includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, cyclist detection, and more in terms of safety.

For interior comfort, the LX trim comes standard with a six-way adjustable driver’s seat and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Cruise control, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system are also all standard on the base model. While it does come with an extra charge, the LX can be ordered with heated front seats and heated side mirrors. The LX trim starts at $25,990 MSRP.

2023 Kia Sportage EX

Many automotive media outlets including Autotrader recommend the EX trim due to its low price point and technology added to the already-impressive base model Sportage LX. For the exterior, the EX adds 18-inch alloy wheels and integrated side mirror turn signals. A panoramic sunroof, roof rack, and LED lighting can be added as optional equipment.

In the interior, passengers get a few more USB-C ports, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other features include push-button start, synthetic leather, power adjustable seats, and heated front seats.

All of these features are added for just a $2,000 increase in price over the standard LX model at $27,990 MSRP.

2023 Kia Sportage SX

The Kia Sportage SX adds an audio upgrade to the interior alongside a heated windshield, premium synthetic leather, 19-inch wheels, and ventilated front seats. For the SX trim, a panoramic sunroof, power liftgate, and highway driving assist are all offered as standard equipment.

With a price of $31,490 MSRP, the price may be hard to justify for the average driver. However, this trim comes equipped with Kia’s highway driving assist which can operate the throttle, brakes, and steering without driver input. If an owner lives in an area that is approved for Kia’s high driving assist, they can have a car that drives itself for less than $32,000.

2023 Kia Sportage X-Line

For the 2023 Kia Sportage X-Line, you can expect to get everything from the previous SX trim, minus the panoramic sunroof and a power liftgate, which are now optional. The X-Line is a rugged take on the Sportage, which comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, rugged exterior trim, and raised roof rack rails.

What sets this trim apart is the addition of all-wheel drive; it takes the Sportage from a simple, competitive crossover, to a capable off-road SUV. The Kia Sportage X-Line starts at $30,790 MSRP.

2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro

Starting at $34,990, the Kia Sportage X-Pro is everything you’d expect out of the top trim of the Sportage. The Sportage X-Pro comes equipped with all-wheel drive and smaller 17-inch off-road wheels and tires, a heated windshield, and windshield washer nozzles, along with multiple different off-road driving modes.

LED headlights and fog lights are included, along with all of the features found on the SX trim, other than the power adjustable seat and ventilated front seats; these can be added on as optional equipment.

Which Sportage trim is right for me?

Considering an affordable and reliable crossover, any Kia Sportage trim could be ideal. Most publications agree that the EX trim is the best value for the money. But, it can be hard not to entertain the idea of an X-Line or X-Pro all-wheel drive model, especially if dealing with snowy conditions.
