With a slated release of late Summer 2022, the 2023 X3 can be priced on BMW’s site and will soon hit the roads. It will be available at BMW dealerships throughout the United States, as well as in various international markets.

The BMW X3 is currently built at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. However, BMW might move production of the X3 to its plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Buyers of the 2023 BMW X3 have a choice of four engine options: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, and a more powerful variant of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six for the X3 M Competition. The X3 offers both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems. Here are the horsepower and specs for each X3 engine:

  • Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder: 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque
  • Turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six: 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque

  • Twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six (X3 M Competition): 503 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque

The X3 is very quick and fast. Its 0-60 mph acceleration time ranges from 6.0 seconds for the base trims to as low as 3.7 seconds for the X3 M Competition. For the top speed, the X3 M models can go as fast as 155 mph. On the efficiency front, the X3 has an estimated fuel economy of up to 23 city/29 highway mpg. When properly equipped, the X3 can tow up to 4,400 pounds.

Compared to most other SUVs, the X3 is very agile. Also, the X3 offers a Dynamic Damper Control adaptive suspension with selectable drive modes. This includes settings for Comfort, Sport, and Eco Pro.

The 2023 BMW X3 offers a multitude of useful technologies. For the interior, this includes the BMW iDrive infotainment system, which is available with either a 10.3-inch or a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Additional interior features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, a wireless smartphone charger, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

Also, the X3 offers many safety-enhancing driving assistance technology features. This includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning.
