When will the 2023 BMW 3 Series be available?

Slated for a July 2022 release, the 2023 BMW 3 Series options can be selected and priced on BMW‘s site. It will soon hit the roads and be available at BMW dealerships throughout the U.S., as well as in various international markets. The BMW 3 Series for the U.S. market is built at the BMW plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

How much does the 2023 BMW 3 Series cost?

The starting price of the 2023 BMW 3 Series ranges from $42,300 MSRP for the 330i trim up to $80,800 MSRP for the M3 Competition xDrive trim.

The 2023 BMW 3 Series has the same engine lineup as the 2022 3 Series. This includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder for the 330i trim, a plug-in hybrid (turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor) for the 330e trim, and a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and a 48-volt hybrid system for the M340i trim.

Here is the horsepower/torque output and fuel economy for each of the BMW 3 Series engines:

  • Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder: 255 hp/295 lb-ft of torque and up to 26 city/36 highway mpg
  • Plug-in hybrid: 288 hp/310 lb-ft of torque and up to 25 city/33 highway mpg in hybrid mode and 72 city/80 highway MPGe in electric-only mode
  • Turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and a 48-volt hybrid system: 382 hp/369 lb-ft of torque and up to 23 city/32 highway mpg

For acceleration, the BMW 330i can go from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds, while the 330e completes the sprint in 5.6 seconds. Also, the M340i is even quicker, with a 0-60 mph of only 4.1 seconds. 

2023 3 Series: Exterior and interior design and features

The 2023 BMW 3 Series has a refreshed design. Notable changes include a more expressive front end with redesigned headlights and BMW kidney grille, as well as “crisply structured surfaces.” Also, the front and rear bumpers have a more angular design.

Inside the cabin, the 3 Series has a new curved display. It features a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Additional interior updates include redesigned trim pieces and air vents, a small lever in place of the gear knob, and reduced buttons due to the greater use of voice and touch controls. Also, the 3 Series has an improved iDrive infotainment system, with a more effective Intelligent Personal Assistant, as well as a new cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system.
