A new Toyota car, truck, or sport utility vehicle might come with complimentary maintenance for a short period of time, but then the owner is responsible. The good news is that a Toyota tune-up cost is more affordable than many brands.

A Toyota tune-up cost should be under $500 annually

Toyota offers free scheduled maintenance for the first few years of a Toyota car, truck, or SUV’s life. Generally, that lasts the first two years or 25,000 miles, but this is subject to change. This maintenance usually includes oil changes, an inspection, and filter changes.

RepairPal estimates that drivers spend an average of $441 annually on maintenance costs for Toyota vehicles. While repair and maintenance costs vary depending on age, mileage, location, and shop, Toyota is on the more affordable end of the spectrum.

After that, Toyota drivers are expected to pay for maintenance. A Toyota tune-up cost hopefully won’t bankrupt anyone, but $441 should cover most common repairs and general upkeep. Some of the most popular vehicles from the brand include the Toyota Land Cruiser, Camry, Tundra, and Tacoma pickup trucks.

On the other hand, a recent study by iSeeCars says that Toyota is one of the more reliable brands on the market. When the study looked at vehicles that had been on the market for 10 of the last 20 years that lasted longer than 200,000 miles, Toyota had the most cars on the list.

While Toyota SUVs topped the list of vehicles with the greatest potential lifespan, more than half of the cars come from Toyota. In the top 10, the Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Prius, and Tundra pickup trucks have the potential to last more than 250,000 miles. The Avalon sedan, Highlander Hybrid, 4Runner, Sienna, Camry Hybrid, and Tacoma pickup truck have the potential to last more than 230,000 miles.

Even if your Toyota tune-up costs over $441 a year, your car, truck, or SUV has a good chance of lasting a long time. Ensure you check your tires every few months, even if you aren’t driving as much. It might help you discover a problem before it escalates.
