Walter White from Breaking Bad is one of the most talked about villains from the modern era of television. Of course, most fans of the show remember that he drove a Pontiac Aztek. This was his car for the majority of the series. However, he drove a few other cars during the run of the show, including a 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8.

Here’s a look into Walter White’s less-discussed vehicle from Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad aired on the AMC network from 2008 until 2013. The show is often called one of the best from recent years, but many car fans remember it for making the ill-fated Pontiac Aztek famous. The Aztek was featured heavily in the show and survived quite a few minor and not-so-minor car accidents. Of course, Pontiac discontinued the SUV years before the series started.

However, towards the end of the show, Walter White, the show’s main character, acquired a black 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT-8. Of course, this came after his drug empire started to rake in the big bucks. This new car fit his slightly more upscale personality without being too flashy, which is a significant draw for the car for buyers in real life.

The Chrysler 300 SRT8 was an upgrade in ‘Breaking Bad’

Fans of Breaking Bad had become accustomed to Walter White driving his Pontiac Aztek. However, it made sense for the character to eventually upgrade to his 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8. In fact, Walter White purchased the car for his 51st birthday. What makes it special isn’t just that this is a much more luxurious vehicle than the Aztek, but that it’s powerful. This is something Breaking Bad took full advantage of in crucial scenes.

According to Edmunds, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 uses a 6.4-liter V8 engine that makes 470 horsepower and has a torque of 470 lb-ft. This is a rear-wheel drive car that uses a five-speed automatic transmission. Regarding speed, the Breaking Bad car accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour between 4.5 and 5 seconds.

Of course, fans don’t see very much of the inside of the upgraded Breaking Bad car. However, this is a spacious option with more than enough room for his family on the show. However, they were rarely seen in it with him as his life of crime had caused a major divide by this point. Though the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 was a welcomed upgrade, Walter White’s Pontiac Aztek will always be more iconic.
