If you wanted a Jeep Wrangler with more power or an option that’s more fuel-efficient, then you’re in luck. The new Jeep Wrangler 4xe is both the most powerful Jeep Wrangler ever and the best fuel economy.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe power
Forget any noting that hybrid or electric vehicles are weak. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is definitely not a pavement princess. Instead, it’s the must cable Jeep Wrangler ever made that’s built for serious off-roading.
Under the hood of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, you’ll find a plug-in hybrid turbocharged engine that pumps out 375-hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Wrangle 4xe is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds, making it the fastest Wrangler ever too.
Even if the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon V8 concept comes out with 450-hp, the 4xe will produce 20 more lb-ft of torque. Also, the 3.0 diesel V6 engine only pumps out 442 lb-ft of torque. True off-roaders know that more torque is better for rock crawling and towing.
2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe fuel economy
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is expected to have a 400-mile range. That means you should be able to drive about 400 miles before needing to fill up. Also, thanks to E-selec driving modes, you can optimize your drive. You should get up to 50 MGEe, making it efficient to use your Jeep Wrangler for errands around town.
A 17.0 kWh lithium-ion-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery is connected to motors. The battery is stored under the rear seat and is easily accessible by flipping the cushion up. But charging information hasn’t been released.
Jeep didn’t specify where the charging port is, how long it takes to charge the Wrangler 4xe, or charging compatibility. However, an LED will display the charging status, and a display located nearby will show you the battery status.
You can drive with electric power or with a hybrid blend of power and gas. The battery will be prioritized for when you need it, and regenerative braking helps provide more juice. Plus, the 4×4 system will also help regenerate battery power.
2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe off-roading specs
The Jeep Wrangler hybrid won’t compromise any off-roading abilities. The only thing you may miss is the engine’s roar, as the 4xe will operate in complete silence. But on the other hand, maybe this will help you better connect with nature.
It comes with solid Dana-44 axles and a two-speed transfer case that provides full time 4×4 drive. It has a ground clearance of 10.8-inches and can go water fording in depths up to 30-inches deep.
We know that water and electricity don’t go together, but you can relax. The high-voltage electric components are sealed for waterproof protection. The only shocks you’ll receive will be from how awesome the 4xe is. Underbody skid plates protect other parts.
You can use the Rock-Trac system to switch from 2wd to 4wd when slippage occurs, or leave it engaged full time. It has a 4:1 crawl ratio. There are also electronically locking differentials in the front and rear with an electronic sway bar disconnect.
