The Jeep Renegade has been around since 2015. This has given drivers a few years to test the Renegade for themselves. This Jeep model was expected to flop, but old school Jeep fans have been impressed by this compact SUV. Check out what people love about the Jeep Renegade.

Surprising Jeep Renegade Features

From its spunky design that incorporates the classic slotted Jeep grille and round headlights along with X taillights, the Jeep Renegade comes in hot. It brings a new attitude to the Jeep name that’s instantly loved or dismissed.

However, you could be missing out if you let this little Jeep SUV pass on by. It’s price, capabilities, and features are among a few of the exciting things that people love about the Renegade.

The Price

New Jeeps are expensive, that’s a fact. If you want a Jeep Cherokee or Wrangler, then prepare your wallet, unless you choose the Jeep Renegade instead. The 2020 model starts at $22k, and the highest trim level is $28k.

This means that you can get a trail-ready Jeep with a luxurious ride and crawling abilities for under $30k.

Plus, If you select a used Trailhawk model, then you can save even more on advanced Jeep capabilities.

The Fuel Economy

Along with being known for being expensive, Jeeps are also known for having weak fuel economies. However, this is another stereotype that the sporty Jeep Renegade brakes.

The Jeep Renegade is a fuel-efficient option and gets an average of 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

The Honda CR-V gets up to 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, so the Renegade isn’t far behind. Plus, it’s much more capable than the front-wheel-drive CR-V option.

The Power

Just because the Jeep Renegade is available in a smaller package doesn’t mean that it has less power than other Jeeps. It’s turbocharged 2.4-Liter Tigershark engine pumps out 180 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque.

Its peppy acceleration makes it an excellent option for driving around the city, and its torque provides the off-roading power necessary from crawling over rocks and other obstacles.

Plus, the Renegade can tow up to 2,000 l, which is 500 more pounds than the Honda CR-V can tow.

It’s Tech

The Jeep Renegade combines modern functionality with advanced tech. The Uconnect touch screen places all of your favorite apps right at your fingertips. Easily access calls, texts, podcasts, and more without having to pick up your phone.

Plus, the Renegade allows you to connect according to your personal preferences. Use Apple Car Play or Android Auto. You can also use the wifi hotspot to stay connected and command you Jeep with Alexa from inside of your home.

If you pair your Jeep with your favorite devices, you can also start it, lock the doors, use location services, and more with just a simple tap on your smartwatch.

It’s Off-Road Ready

The Trailhawk trim option comes ready to hit the trails with all-terrain tires, skid plates, Mopar wheels, three tow hooks, and more to dominate the beaten path. It also has a 1” lift smooth suspension for a comfortable ride.

The Selec-Terrain system allows you to choose between different driving modes with a twist of a knob to adjust to changing terrain quickly. The drive modes include sand, snow, mud, rock, and auto to send the appropriate amount of traction needed to each tire to prevent slippage.
