As far as full-size SUVs go, the 2022 Ford Expedition is probably what most people think of. iSeeCars says it offers between 20.9 and 63.6 cubic feet of cargo space depending on trim level. The Expedition received a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA, with high scores on the frontal and side crash rating. Regarding the rollover risk, the Ford Expedition has a 20.1% chance. Automatic emergency braking and automatic high beams are standard, making this one of the safest large SUVs for 2022.

Chevrolet’s Tahoe is another one of the safest large SUVs for 2022

While the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe only gets between 16 and 23 mpg, it is still a good choice for an SUV. The NHTSA gave the Tahoe a four-star overall safety rating, with the side crash score coming in at five stars. iSeeCars and the NHTSA put the rollover risk percentage at 21.6%, which is about average for vehicles of this size. Don’t forget it has 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space for whatever you might need to carry around.

Check out the GMC Yukon and all of its cargo space

Regarding the 2022 GMC Yukon, 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space is enough to get the job done. This large SUV also only gets between 16 and 23 mpg, which is to be expected. GMC’s SUV received high marks for the frontal crash and side crash ratings. Similar to its competition, the Yukon’s rollover risk is 21.6%. Automatic emergency braking and high beams are standard technology. Still, the Yukon is one of the safest large SUVs for 2022.

You can skip the Nissan Armada sport utility vehicle

Overall, the 2022 Nissan Armada is a large SUV that is lacking in a few areas. It has a pretty high starting price of $49,900 and only gets between 15 and 16 mpg. For cargo space, the Armada comes in last with 16.5 cubic feet. The NHTSA and IIHS didn’t score this full-size vehicle and might not get around to it. iSeeCars put it last on its list of SUVs, especially without much in the way of safety.
