What’s New for 2023 Ford Trucks?
The 2023 model year brings a fair amount of changes for Ford trucks. The Super Duty is all-new, the 2023 Ford F-150 gets a new off-road package, and the Maverick now offers a Tremor option. So with these 2023 updates, is it worth it to buy a Ford truck?
Will there be changes to the 2023 Ford Maverick?
Despite the Maverick pickup truck being new for the 2022 model year, there are changes to the 2023 Ford Maverick. The optional turbocharged engine no longer adds an additional cost. And that means if you want more power from Ford’s small truck, you will not need to pay extra.
Perhaps the biggest change to the 2023 Maverick is the new Tremor package. This optional off-road package is available to the Maverick XLT and Maverick Lariet. It gives a one-inch lift to this pickup, plus a new all-wheel drive system that has been optimized for off-road use.
A Ford Maverick Tremor will also give you Ford’s Trail Control system. According to Car and Driver, this feature is essentially off-road cruise control. So, if you want a small truck that is capable of going on the trail, opting for the Tremor package might be the right call for you.
Is Ford redesigning the F-150 for 2023?
The 2023 Ford F-150 has not been redesigned, but there are some updates for it. If you want a full-size truck with off-road capabilities, the Rattler trim might be of interest to you. This trim is based on the F-150 XL FX4, and it comes with a number of off-road features.
You will get hill-descent control, a locking rear differential, and an off-road suspension system. Although this pickup truck will not be as capable as an F-150 Raptor, that’s not really the point. If you’re on a budget, the Rattler trim is also cheaper than the Tremor package.
Will there be a 2023 Ford Super Duty?
Not only is there a 2023 Super Duty, but this heavy-duty is also all-new from the ground up. The 7.3-liter V8 has a new air intake and refined tuning. This should increase overall driver comfort and vehicle performance. If you are looking for a diesel truck, the all-new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 will likely interest you.
The Ford Super Duty was starting to show its age. But now, it’s more in line with the 2023 Ford F-150 and Ford Maverick in terms of design language. According to Car and Driver, the side vents are actually functional. So, that’s good news for folks who dislike design gimmicks.
Should you buy a new Ford truck?
Whether you want an electric truck or you are interested in Ford’s small truck, there’s a lot to love about the 2023 models. Some are certainly expensive, but the Maverick does remain relatively affordable.
There are still supply chain constraints going on, so finding a new Ford truck might be difficult. And you may even encounter dealership markups. But to some, that might be worth the hassle.
