Porsche is an innovative company that embraces new technology. From the 1974 911 Turbo to the 2013 918 Spyder PHEV, the German automaker has always made vehicles on the leading edge. And the Taycan EV continues that tradition.

The all-electric Taycan is a four-door sports sedan with Porsche performance and zero emissions. Beyond its high-tech powertrain, it has style for miles and an elegant interior. So, how much does a fully loaded 2024 Porsche Taycan cost? To find out, we’ll explore trim levels, pricing, and all the available add-ons.

A 2024 Porsche Taycan EV overview

As the EV age begins, electric cars, trucks, and SUVs keep gaining popularity. Besides emissions-free driving, electric vehicles offer instant torque and at-home charging. But there aren’t many options for electric sports cars or sports sedans. The Porsche Taycan changes that.

With its low, wide stance, sloping nose, and narrow headlights, the Taycan is reminiscent of a shark prowling the ocean. Enormous monoblock calipers peek behind the wheels, hinting at the sports sedan’s superlative performance. When it comes to sleek style, the Taycan delivers.

Then there’s the powertrain. Available in single-motor and dual-motor configurations, the all-electric setup produces from 402 horsepower to 750 hp, adding thrills to the EV experience. Unlike most electric cars — which use a single-speed gearbox — the Taycan has a dual-speed transmission. Additionally, continuing Porsche’s history of innovation, the Taycan’s 800-volt architecture brings DC fast-charging speeds of 270 kWh.

Inside, the theme is high-tech luxury. Digital displays span the entire dash, like a glass cockpit in an airplane. Materials and craftsmanship are exquisite. Furthermore, showing its sports car roots, the Taycan has a thick, contoured steering wheel.

2024 Porsche Taycan trim level options

The 2024 Porsche Taycan comes in the following trims (prices including destination):

• Base: $92,550

4S: $113,350

GTS: $140,950

Turbo: $162,450

Turbo S: $196,550

The base trim Taycan uses a 402 hp single-motor setup with rear-wheel drive. The standard 79.2 kWh battery brings a range of 208 miles. However, with the optional 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus, that figure increases to 282 miles. Additional features include 19-inch Taycan S Aero wheels, LED headlights, a 10-speaker audio system, and eight-way power front seats.

Moving up to the Taycan 4S brings a dual-motor AWD powertrain with 522 hp and 206 miles of range with the standard battery. Upgrading to the Performance Battery Plus increases the range to 272 miles. Porsche Integrated 4D Chassis Control continually adjusts to road conditions, and 60 mph arrives in only 3.8 seconds.

For drivers with sporting intentions, the Taycan GTS adds high-performance equipment all around. A dual-motor setup and the Performance Battery Plus are standard, for 590 hp and a 246-mile range. Additionally, 20-inch wheels and LED matrix headlights enhance curb appeal, and 18-way adaptive sports seats offer comfort and support. Lastly, a carbon fiber interior trim creates a racy feel.

The Turbo moniker is significant in the world of Porsche. Hearkening back to the first turbocharged production Porsche — the 1974 911 — the term symbolizes advanced tech in the pursuit of performance. The Taycan Turbo lives up to that reputation, producing 670 hp and reaching 60 mph in an amazing 3.0 seconds. The dual-motor AWD sports sedan has a standard range of 238 miles, which increases to 275 miles with the Performance Battery Plus. Then, 20-inch Taycan Turbo Aero wheels and white brake calipers add a distinctive look.

At the top of the Taycan range is the Turbo S. Taking the regular Turbo and extracting every last bit of performance, the S version offers up to 750 hp and fade-free ceramic brakes. With a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds, the Turbo S can hang with anything on the road. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) offer significant weight savings and heat resistance for even better dynamics during spirited drives. The standard range is 222 miles; opting for the Performance Battery Plus extends that to 278 miles.

Options and add-ons for the Taycan Turbo S

For the driving enthusiast who wants an electric car, the 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo S has it all. And thanks to abundant options, Porsche customers can personalize their vehicles, from the color to the wheels. Using the company’s Build and Price tool, we did just that.

The Porsche “Paint to Sample” program lets buyers pick from 160 historic colors in the company’s palette. However, “Paint to Sample Plus” takes that even further, letting customers provide a shade of their choice. Though it costs $30,020, drivers get a unique finish, unlike anything on the road. So, we added it to our build, going with a deep shade of green.

The 21-inch Taycan Exclusive Design wheels ($4,510) with carbon fiber aero blades add a high-tech feel.

Inside, we opted for Olea Club Leather in basalt black/meranti brown ($2,450), creating a tailored ambiance.

We also went with the $5,920 Technology Package, including Porsche InnoDrive. That included a head-up display and a passenger display. The Porsche InnoDrive system improves upon adaptive cruise control, sensing road conditions and adjusting speed accordingly.

For race car presence on the circuit or street, we picked the $5,660 SportDesign Package in carbon fiber. That brought carbon fiber detailing to the lower fascia, side skirts, and rear diffuser.

To add a fun attitude, we chose the Bespoke Decal set for $1,020, adding personalized numbers to the doors.

Lastly, Porsche Experience Center Delivery ($2,000) was a nice touch for this customized ride.

Beyond that, we kept clicking and clicking on available options. The end result was an MSRP of $301,270 (including destination). That’s a lavish sum, to be sure. However, for a bespoke Porsche, it’s simply the cost of entry.

The 2024 Porsche Taycan is an electric sports sedan without equal. By concentrating on performance, the German automaker adds excitement to the EV segment. From its dramatic bodywork to its innovative powertrain, the Taycan is a striking presence on the street. And the Turbo S model has supercar performance, making the Taycan pure Porsche.
