Since debuting in the 2020 model year, the Kia Telluride has been a popular and reliable midsize SUV for a wide variety of drivers. Other competitors have released impressive SUVs of their own to compete with Kia’s vehicle, but the Telluride remains the vehicle most likely to be ranked at the top of its class. It received its first significant refresh last year, adding new style flourishes, more driver-assist features, and a truly absurd amount of trim levels. Kia makes more subtle changes for the 2024 revision, resulting in the cheapest Kia Telluride having a price tag that is similar to the 2023 model.

The 2024 Kia Telluride LX price is …

Per Kia, the cost of the cheapest 2024 Kia Telluride base model, known as the LX, begins at $35,990. This price is nearly identical to the 2023 LX trim, which started at $35,890. The 2024 Telluride further stays in line with previous models thanks to the large number of trim levels that remain as part of the product line.

There are 10 official 2024 Kia Telluride trims for people to buy. The five main trim levels are the LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. There are also X-Line versions of the EX, SX, and SX Prestige, in addition to X-Pro versions of the SX and SX-Prestige.

Here’s how much it would cost to buy those trims:

  • S – $37,890
  • EX – $41,590
  • EX X-Line – $45,885
  • SX – $45.790
  • SX X-Line – $49.285
  • SX X-Pro – $50,285
  • SX Prestige – $50,690
  • SX Prestige X-Line – $52,185
  • SX Prestige X-Pro – $53,185

These prices are broadly in line with the prices for the 2023 Telluride models.

Specs for the cheapest Kia Telluride trim

Every model of the 2024 Kia Telluride comes with a standard 3.8-liter V6 engine good for 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Every trim also comes with a number of safety tools such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, forward collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assistance that contribute to the five-star rating the Telluride LX received from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Despite being the base model, it provides a lot of features that will leave most drivers satisfied. The exterior of the SUV is accented with 18-inch wheels and LED headlights. It has enough seating for eight passengers, and those seats are covered with synthetic leather upholstery. Infotainment is accessed via the LX’s 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration.

Other amenities include keyless entry with a push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-passenger automatic climate control, and a six-speaker audio system.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride worth the price?

Whether a car purchase represents good value largely depends on a person’s preference and circumstances. Still, it is fundamentally true that the 2024 Kia Telluride LX offers solid performance, safety, and decent entertainment options. Many of Kia’s peers in the midsize SUV space have increased prices in the last couple of years, but the Telluride price remains affordable to a larger group of people.

The LX’s biggest flaw is just as apparent in higher-level trims. The fuel economy (22 mpg with front-wheel drive, 20 mpg with all-wheel drive) isn’t bad, but you could find better if that is an important factor to you.

It should also be said that, for all its qualities, the LX is not considered the most attractive Telluride trim. That title goes to the S trim, which adds features like a sunroof, heated front seats, and 20-inch wheels for an extra $1,900. Premium trims add more capabilities and other options to further personalize the Telluride, but those features aren’t universally needed for each driver.
